Eminem pulled a prank on his fans this Monday on social media, teasing an April Fools’ Day joke about dropping a new album. He posted a trailer for the project with the caption Out Now, leaving fans excited for a surprise release.
However, fans expressed their disappointment in the comments section. One user called it the cruelest April Fools’ joke we’ve ever seen, while another said Eminem was trolling too hard. Many admitted they fell for the joke when they saw the notification.
This prank came after reports of a forthcoming personal documentary and Dr. Dre’s announcement on the Jimmy Kimmel show about Eminem having “something big” in store. Dre confirmed that a new album from the 51-year-old Detroit rapper was expected this year, with his involvement in the project.
With all this anticipation, it’s no wonder that all 22.1 million of his followers on X (formerly Twitter) were taken aback when his account posted a 39-second video titled ‘Out Now,’ accompanied by a fire emoji and more.
The video begins with numerous comments from fans pleading for him to release his long-awaited 12th studio album, especially since his previous one, ‘Music to Be Murdered By,’ came out in 2020.

Narrated in a style reminiscent of movie trailers from the 2000s, a voice declares that the artist’s ‘highly anticipated next studio album’ is ‘returning to its roots,’ complete with airhorns and edited-in fake explosions for effect.
As a nod to his debut studio album, ‘Infinite,’ the narrator reveals that this one is titled ‘Infinite, but now… it’s even more… Infinite.
- One user commented, Marshall, you’re trolling too hard…this was just rude.
- Another expressed disbelief, saying, “I can’t believe this man is pulling an April Fools’ joke on us. This isn’t funny, Marshall.
- A third admitted, “I literally fell for it when the notification popped up on my screen.
- Yet another user remarked, “Posting this on April Fool’s Day is the shadiest thing Slim has ever done.
- Now, it’s just a waiting game. If Dr. Dre says it’s coming this year, then there’s no need to worry. It’ll be out at some point in the next eight months.
